It’s a simple challenge… don’t eat any meat on MONDAY.. or how about a couple of days during the week. Can you do it?
We started doing this at least once a week in our household, but now it’s not only on a Monday. Actually sometimes it’s “Meatless Wednesday or Friday!” I bet you’re doing it already in your household.
Here are some facts about why “Meatless Days” rock:
- For your HEALTH: Reducing your meat intake can lessen your own risk for developing chronic conditions like obesity, diabetes, cardiovascular disease, and even cancer.
- FOR THE PLANET: The emissions come from methane in animal manure, nitrous oxide from fertilizer used to grow animal feed, and the cutting down of forests for grazing land. Animal agriculture is responsible for a 18% of the world’s greenhouse gas emissions that contribute to global warming!
- SAVES MONEY!
Here’s one we love, PRIMAVERA PASTA!
Just empty out the veggie drawer in the refrigerator, dice up the veggies, add them to a tomato or cream base sauce over your favourite pasta! Voila! Easy and tons of goodness!
