Need a NEW wardrobe? Consignment shopping is the answer!

I love to shop, no let me clarify… I love to THRIFT SHOP!

I am one of those crazy people who LOVES to search for a great deal on quality items!

And who doesn’t love a great deal?

Luckily I married a man who shares my love of thrift shopping for clothing, art and furniture. We’ve been scouring the lower mainland’s thrift stores and garage sales for years. In the last few years, www.craigslist.ca has become a personal favourite. It is so much fun to research what you want and try to find it. We’ve had some success with eBay as well, but save on the shipping and it locally if you can.

Thrift or consignment shopping truly is GREEN isn’t it? After all, it’s NEW to you!

Our kids really enjoy it too. They are learning to save money and how to find quality items at affordable prices. I’ve learned so much about art, furniture designers , clothing and shoe quality and labels.

Plus your house will be filled with wonderful “treasures” you’ve searched the planet for or happened upon one day. Each piece may have a great story. Definitely a conversation starter at parties. These pieces may even be handed down to the next generation.

Here are some of the fabulous items I’ve purchased.

Each clothing item was under $20, and the art was under $100. The glass vase was FREE as it was at the side of the road.

I’ve compiled these lists of thrift and consignment stores:

 Consignment or Thrift Clothing Stores

Consignment Furniture Stores

Consignment Kids Stores

Consignment Furniture ONLINE

MY FAVOURITES:
One of my favourite  consignment clothing stores is Turnabout Clothing. They have 3 locations in the lower mainland. Great quality, excellent prices and always a huge selection.
For furniture, art, kitchen, antique, movie props, mid century modern items, you can’t beat Filmgo Sales  in Vancouver. Huge warehouse of inventory that is always changing.

I found this interesting news story about how consignment shopping is getting to be more popular.

So the next time you need a table, new pair of shoes, dress or just something different, try the above lists.

Make a day of it and have fun!
